Fooling Finicky Bluefish with Soft Plastics

Season 20 Sponsors

While bluefish have a reputation for attacking anything and everything in their paths, at times they can be just as picky as striped bass. When blues refuse lures like topwater poppers and metals, lures built to with stand the bluefish’s razor sharp teeth, soft plastics can still get the bite.
While fishing plastics for blues can seem like an exercise in lure donation, as blues are known for chewing through the soft baits as quickly as fishermen can throw them, some of the new, tougher soft plastics, like those made of Z-Man’s ElazTech material can actually withstand a bluefish attack.
In this video, On The Water’s Andrew Burke tests out the durability of Z-man ElaZTech soft plastics against the bluefish of Cape Cod.
