New Model Grady-White Canyon 271 FS Accents Forward Seating, Engineering Details for an Outstanding Center Console in the 25- to 30-foot Category
Grady-White’s original 27-foot Canyon 271 center console enjoys popularity today as a showcase of sportfishing boat design. The wide gunwales, recessed low profile bow rails, lockable horizontal rod storage, and deluxe lean bar with four rod holders, rigging station, tackle drawers and 42-gallon insulated raw water livewell provide a terrific choice for fishermen who love the capability and exceptional ride of Grady-White’s exclusive SeaV2® hull design that makes long runs offshore safe, sure and productive.
Now to be introduced at the 2016 winter boat shows, the brand new model Canyon 271 FS sister ship increases comfort and versatility with the addition of port and starboard bow seating atop 85-quart insulated, overboard draining fish boxes. A casting platform insert option heightens the fishability.
This cushioned bow seating features patent-pending forward facing bolstered and adjustable backrests that fold away to open the bow for fishing action and other water recreation. The platform insert comes with cushion to double as a sundeck, and the insert also serves as a bow table when paired with an available hardware package. Forward console cushioned seating is retained, with a built-in 67-quart cooler beneath. This enhanced layout increases bow seating capacity from two people to five or more. Plus, the Canyon 271 FS anchor locker is redesigned with a horizontal windlass, conserving forward deck space. Thus, by listening to customer requests and adding even more comfort and convenience features, Grady-White has broadened the appeal of this 27-foot center console to a new segment of the market.
The raised helm of the 271 FS exhibits ergonomic excellence with a side-accessed footrest and dedicated electronics area placement. A design first in the 271 FS is a high, scratch resistant acrylic windshield integrated with the standard T-top for a protective enclosure that extends the boating season. It is stylish, too!
“This boat abounds with on-board improvements that fans will delight in,” says David Neese, Grady-White’s vice president of engineering. “Stainless steel cockpit drains, and a new-shaped side window and a new headliner in the ventilated stand-up console area with standard head are just a few of the details in the Canyon 271 FS that add up to big smiles of satisfaction for the boating family who wants to do it all in comfort–whether fish fighting, snorkeling or scuba diving, towing water toys, or just cruising the beach.”
