Offshore fisherman who made it out to Hudson and Fishtails canyons this summer experienced the best yellowfin bite to happen in the last decade. The incredible tuna bite lasted over a month and despite the large number of boats fishing the small canyon, everyone seemed to fill the hold. The bigeye tuna bite was consistently solid around dusk but the abundance of large yellowfin was astounding. While fish on the troll slowed, the night bite on the chunk stayed red hot for weeks.
This past September, OTW TV’s Matt Rissell ventured out on the TOKATOMIST out of South Dartmouth, MA to capture the incredible yellowfin and bigeye tuna bite at Fishtails Canyon. In addition to getting fantastic footage of a strong nighttime bigeye tuna bite and numerous 70-plus-pound class yellowfin (including a 150-pounder!), Matt was able to capture porpoise, pilot whales and other pelagic species actively feasting on the huge number of squid. Enjoy!

how does one sign up for next year to get to go on a trip like this please. Thank you
nice
I was lucky enough to get out on a trip to the Fish Tails as well this september out with Tokatomist and it was unbelievable. The fishing was amazing but the fleet was even crazier. On the chunk at night, the lights from the boats literally looked like Vegas.
Great times and can’t wait to get out there again
