I understand I’d be able to cast most of the way across at the Cape Cod Bay end.

Im originally from lowell ma. fished rivers for carp for over 20 years but its yucky water so no eat .. at best catch and release I moved to Peabody ma and im the next town over from salem ma ive heard theres great fishing there when I fished the merrimack ive always had the same walmart fin-nor combo it caught carp but when it came to the salem ocean.. …… whole different game I cast it comes back at me… I cast hard but looking like an amateur .. these saltwater folks are tough guys ..im definitely not im 6ft 300lbs who did roofing for many years I thought I could cast but feel like a 6 year old and havent caught nothing but what people around here call a skate ?? Its a weird stingray looking thing I was terrified the first time I seen one thought it was a rodent as I pulled it up on the peir (it was all tangled up in the line all I seen was a tail I got it on the pier and didnt know how to get the hook he had no mouth!! A young girl probably 9 or so said dad he gotta skate and then proceeded my way as a couple next. to me from California wanted me to hold it up so they could take a pic so I did in the meantime the young girls father and her explained to me that there mouths are a lil lower and dad and daughter got the hook out .. I dislike feeling silly but thank you sir and ur knowledgeable young little daughter so much!!!! There are people in this world that can help a Big dummy like me he..he thanx

As a retired disabled veteran I find that being outdoors fishing and kayaking help immensley with my condition . I already own a freshwater St. Croix rod and recognize the craftsmanship and quality of it. It would be great to own a St. Croix surf casting rod as surf casting and being on the beach are my favorite activities. Good luck everyone and tight lines.

A friend of mine “lent”me one of his St. Croix rods when he moved out of state. When he moved back to town 3 years later, he reclaimed it. I ordered a new St. Croix on line to replace it and when I opened the box, it was broken in 3 pieces. Would love to have a new one to start the Tarpon season!

Haven’t been able to fish for 3 years due to shoulder injury, time to start!
I can relate. A neck n shoulder injury had me sidelined for a few yrs. Still have problems with em but I use fishing as a type of physical therapy.
