Striper Migration Report: March 31, 2023
The Spring Striper Migration is officially underway!

Welcome back to our annual Striper Migration Map updates! It’s been a long winter, but with water temperatures almost exactly where they were this time last year, the striper migration is underway.
The month of March started off slow for New Jersey anglers targeting bass in the rivers, but after some mild weather, the Raritan Bay popped off with schools of bunker, diving gannets and big bass in the 40-inch range biting large swimming plugs and flutter spoons. This week, OTW’s Assistant Editor, Matt Haeffner, covers the developing bite around New Jersey and the Hudson River as 20- and 30-pound-class fish head into Chesapeake Bay spawning grounds.
