Season 20 Sponsors

Looking back to look ahead! Here’s how the 2022 Striper Migration played out.

Each year, water temperatures, snowmelt, bait presence and other variables influence the timing of the spring striper migration. This time last year, stripers were already heading upstream toward spawning grounds in major Chesapeake Bay tributaries like the Potomac, Patapsco, and Susquehanna Rivers, and northern New Jersey’s backwaters were slowly coming to life with the Hudson River stock. With the spring run just getting started, we’re looking back on last year’s spring striper migration to compare water temperatures and anticipate the long-awaited arrival of our favorite fish.
