Big stripers are settling into summer locations, but they’re lingering longer than usual to feed on bunker off northern New Jersey. There are several hotspots this week that have been producing striped bass over the 40-pound mark, including northern New Jersey, the South Shore of Long Island, Long Island Sound, Outer Cape Cod, and Boston Harbor.

Chesapeake Bay Striper Report

The Maryland DNR reported that striped bass fishing has fallen into typical summer patterns throughout Chesapeake Bay and in some of its tributaries. Schoolie stripers are making up the majority of the catch.

New Jersey Striper Report

Bass in the 30-inch range are being landed in the bays and surf of South Jersey. In North Jersey, the live-lining bite has lasted longer than is typical, with fishermen catching a number of stripers over 50 pounds!

New York – Long Island Striper Report

Western Long Island Sound has been holding big stripers, and several 40s and 50s have been caught out at The Race in eastern Long Island Sound. Big bass are spreading out along the South Shore from Fire Island to Montauk. Read more in the Long Island Fishing Report.

Connecticut Striper Report

Big bass action has shifted to the reefs and the Race, where fish to 50 pounds were landed recently. View the Connecticut Fishing Report.

Rhode Island Striper Report

Some big bass are being caught in Narragansett Bay around bunker schools, but the action has shifted out toward Newport. View the Rhode Island Fishing Report.

Cape Cod Striper Report

Race Point has been holding big schools of bass, including fish over 40 pounds, that are falling fro live mackerel. View the Cape Cod Fishing Report

Massachusetts Striper Report

Big bass are being caught on live mackerel on the ledges off Scituate, Hull, and north of the harbor. Two 50-pound bass were landed on trolling plugs in the Harbor this week. Larger bass, including some in the 30-pound class, have been caught in the Merrimack River. Read about it in the Massachusetts Fishing Report

New Hampshire and Maine Striper Report

Bass in excess of 20 pounds have been caught as far north as Portland, Maine, and at least one 40-pounder was caught on a live mackerel off New Hampshire. Read about it in the New Hampshire and Maine Fishing Report.
