Erie County

Lake Erie

Fishing in Western Erie is picking up. Walleye fishing has been improving over the last week or so. Anglers are catching Walleye in 20 feet of water out to 60 feet of water. The Walleye are still migrating from the west and anglers should see good, steady numbers for the next few months.

Elk Creek

Anglers are catching Smallmouth Bass in Elk Creek from the mouth all the way up to Interstate 90.

Venango County

Allegheny River

Anglers are catching Smallmouth Bass using tubes and top water lures. With the recent stained water, anglers are catching catfish using cut bait.

French Creek

From Utica through Franklin, anglers are catching Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, and Walleye.

Oil Creek

Anglers are catching Smallmouth Bass from Rynd Farm through the confluence with Allegheny River. Low flow and increasing water temperatures are causing trout to stack in the cooler flows of the incoming tributaries.

Kahle Lake

Anglers are catching Bluegill and Yellow Perch.

Two Mile Run Reservoir (Justus Lake)

Anglers are catching trout at depths between 20’-25’. Angler are catching bass in the southern end of the lake, between the swim beach and the dam.
