UPDATE 2/7/19: Not much has changed this week, as every shop called reported that angler effort is non-existent, despite the unseasonable warmth.

The weather did not help anyone get out on the water this week.
Things have been very quiet this week around Long Island.
Tidal creeks are starting to produce white perch with some decent sized trout mixed in.
Herring and trout will be your best bet for bending a rod this weekend and into next week with freshwater ponds and rivers predicted to continue to fish well.
The weather forecast being what it is for the next two days, it looks like the weekend is going to be a wash-out.
Fishing has been good for tog along the south shore so try to get out before the season is over!
Blackfishing should continue to do well in the deeper water into the weekend; the offshore wrecks are a good option.
Cold, high winds kept many anglers inside this week.
Blackfish continue to produce the most solid action for the island this week.
