Wire-Lining Stripers on Cape Cod and Nocturnal Carp Fishing
Season 03 » Show 5
Contrary to what most of us have been taught about striped bass fishing, Chris Megan and Neal Larsson of On The Water sleep in, meeting up with Captain Eric Stapelfeld in Falmouth Harbor at 1:30 p.m. The practice of jigging with wire line has allowed for this late departure, as this technique sends the bait deep where the stripers lurk while the sun is overhead. Captain Stapelfeld shares his tricks for duping big bass on wire, and puts the boys on steady action throughout the afternoon.
In the second half of the episode, Jay Baver teams up once again with the Wasilewski brothers for an evening of carp fishing in Rhode Island. As the sun sets, the carp set aside their skittish nature and feed heavily in shallow water, providing some memorable battles for the carp fishing trio.
