    unbelievable job of staying calm!

How was or why was the boat filling up with water? I guess I don’t understand just because the bilge crapped out why would the boat fill with water, was it from water coming in over the stern on stops and go’s?

    glad you made it home!

Here on the Chesapeake, I’ve heard a few emergency tactics over the years that made sense. If your boat fills w/ water, (if possible) gun the engine full speed and turn the vessel. Much of the water slops out the stern. Another one is to turn your rubber boots upside down, fill them with air for floatation. Been there, that water is F&*^%$# cold…. Glad you made it.

Wow, Thank god your all safe. I have one of those handheld units but don’t normally keep it in my boat (25′ HS). I’ll be bringing it down later today and making room in the ditch bag.
